University of Pisa campus The Department of Business Administration at the University of Pisa in Northern Tuscany in Italy, offers high profile post graduate Master and Phd programmes with international partners. Our approach to teaching results from a combination of traditional academic lessons, exercises, cases studies. We provide an effective learning experience that brings together up-to-date research and best practices from the business world. We welcome international students from all over the world, organise group Italian language courses for all levels, and provide study materials and advice for independent, individual learning.

 

The library provides books, newspapers, on-line journals and databases. There are also closets and copying machines. The study rooms have wireless connection and there are about 20 cables for Laptop connection.

 

Pisa can be said to be a city on a student-scale. The 50.000 students enrolled at the University, forming a significant proportion of Pisa's 90.000 inhabitants, are a particularly visible presence in the streets of the city-centre, with its numerous world famous monuments such as the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli.

 

Pisa has a stimulating cultural and social life, enlivened by the activities of many cultural and political associations of various orientations, which provide many opportunities for exchange, learning and friendship.

 

The University of Pisa MBA is a 12-month full-time programme running from January to December 2012.

 

The goal of programme is to acquire managerial skills and to develop professional and personal competences in business administration.

 

The full-time programme is articulated in two terms.

 

In the first term, Fundamental and Specialist Courses provide the pillars of business administration and sharpen the management skills in order to develop professional competences in several key areas. After the first course dedicated to the team building and personal development, the programme deals with basic competences and core management skills in a wide range of disciplines: introduction to management, financial reporting and analysis, marketing principles and corporate finance.


In the next weeks the programme includes these subjects: corporate finance, financial markets, organizational behavior and human capital, supply chain management, cost management, budgeting and management reporting, marketing management, auditing, corporate governance, strategy.

 

In addition, you have a course of entrepreneurship and doing business in emerging economies, provided to understand the new trend in the global markets.

 

The second term is dedicated to the preparation of the project work. The Master Thesis can be either a research project or a case study, it can also be developed through a field project or an internship.
