Katz
Facilites
Accommodation
Graduate
students live in off-campus accommodations. Pittsburgh
has some of the most reasonable rental fees of
any major city in the United States. A wide variety
of apartments and homes are available in the Oakland
and surrounding areas. Our Housing Resource Centre
will assist you with information and questions.
Financial Assistance
The
primary source of financial assistance is tuition
scholarships. These merit-based scholarships are
awarded in various dollar amounts and are directly
applied against tuition charges. Those who submit
their applications by the first-round deadline
are automatically considered for scholarship awards;
limited funds may be available for subsequent
application deadlines. Due to the amount of coursework
undertaken in a compressed time frame, teaching
fellowships and assistantships are typically not
offered at the master's level. In addition to
scholarships, the Katz School also provides detailed
loan information to all incoming International
and U.S. students.
Careers
Organization
The
Career Services Centre has developed MBA L@unch,
an aggressive, comprehensive Career Management
Program. The program incorporates self-assessment,
skills development and career exploration interspersed
with multiple opportunities for corporate and
alumni interaction. From day one, students spend
significant time with experienced career coaches
who pride themselves on working closely with each
a nd
every student. In addition to a personal approach,
we use state-of-the-art technology to facilitate
registration, recruitment, and resume distribution.
To provide the business perspective, corporate
representatives and alumni participate in resume
critiques, mock interviews, and workshops. Topics
include case and behavioural interviewing, networking,
salary negotiation and other relevant issues.
The Career Centre holds general and high-tech
career fairs involving recruiters and students
in panel discussions as well as table presentations.
Our strong corporate connections result in over
100 companies recruiting at Katz and hundreds
of others networked to the school through consortia,
alumni and friends.
Alumni
Over
17,000 Katz alumni enjoy staying connected with
one another through our Online Alumni Community,
a 24-hour networking tool secured through the
Katz website. In addition, our very own publication,
"Managing Magazine," keeps Katz Alumni
abreast of recent events and professional updates.
