What is the difference between a full-time MBA program and a part-time MBA program?

 

A full-time MBA program usually lasts one or two years. Full-time MBA’s are designed for students who have just graduated college and can get loans to cover their tuition, or people who have been working for some time and can afford to take a break in order to study.

 

If your full-time MBA program lasts for two years you can expect it to include a professional internship where you will get the chance to practice your skills in the real work place. It is often the case that employers are willing to pay for employees to do a part-time MBA so that they can advance in their career. Part-time MBA’s take a minimum of two years to complete.

 

How am I ever going to find time to study for an MBA?

 

Students often have obligations with their jobs and family that they are unable to forgo to study for an MBA. If this is the case for you then an online MBA may be your best option. By doing an online MBA you have the option to study from the comfort of your own home and around your schedule. The only requirement for an online MBA is that you are self-disciplined and committed enough to be able to get the work done with no-one there telling you to do it.

 

What is an Executive MBA Program?

 

Executive MBA programs are designed for current executives, or seasoned managers, who want to develop their business knowledge or add a new specialty to their skill set. They can be studied for online or in the classroom.

 

Most Executive MBA courses are run on weekends and last two years in length. Many companies will pay for their employees to get their executive MBA because they can benefit the company by getting it. Once you have your executive MBA you can expect to be able to demand a higher salary and advance more rapidly in the workplace.

 

Can I get an MBA specialising in my specific field of study?

 

There are Masters Courses, which focus on a particular niche of business, and for some this is preferable to getting an MBA. By getting an MBA you are getting a well rounded business management education, however if you are specialising in a particular field then a master’s degree would be a better fit for you.

 

You can get a Masters in many different disciplines but some of the most popular for business students are the Masters in Accounting, Masters in IT and Commerce, Masters in Finance and Masters in Marketing and PR.
