What's behind the score.
The rankings are only as honest as the data underneath them. Here's the scale.
480+
Accredited programs tracked
MBA, EMBA, Online, and Deferred across 34 countries. Every program is independently accredited and re-verified each cycle.
142,000+
Verified alumni outcome records
Self-reported salary and placement data, cross-checked against LinkedIn and employer disclosures through Q4 2024.
90days
Refresh cycle, every quarter
Every score is recalculated against the latest employment report, tuition update, and admissions data we can verify.
$0
Paid placement in rankings
Rankings cannot be bought. Sponsored programs are clearly labelled "Sponsored" and suppressed from algorithmic ranking.
Methodology
How we score 480+ programs every 90 days.
Four chapters of the model. Each is independently weighted, audit-published, and reproducible from public data plus verified alumni outcomes.
Chapter 01 · Weight 28%
Return on Investment
Five-year net financial ROI after total cost of attendance, opportunity cost, and scholarship aid. We discount using each program's local currency, not a US dollar anchor. Schools that publish transparent financial outcomes score higher than those that don't.
Source: audited financial disclosures, IRS Form 990s, and verified alumni tax records where available.
Chapter 02 · Weight 26%
Placement Outcomes
Not "any job at 90 days" — function-appropriate placement. We score against the cohort's stated career goal, then weight industry, geography, and signed-offer timing. Sponsored placements and unverified LinkedIn updates are excluded.
Source: school-reported employment reports plus 142,000+ cross-checked alumni records.
Chapter 03 · Weight 24%
Salary Lift
Pre-MBA to post-MBA compensation delta at three years, with bonus and equity included. We cohort-match against applicants with comparable prior compensation and tenure so a $30k starting salary doesn't artificially flatter a smaller program.
Source: alumni self-reports verified against employer compensation disclosures.
Chapter 04 · Weight 22%
Alumni Mobility
Function changes, industry moves, and geography shifts across the five-year window after graduation. A program that reliably moves people into senior management, product, or consulting gets the mobility credit; one that returns alumni to the same role and same city does not.
