QUESTIONS APPLICANTS ASK BEFORE RELYING ON ANY OF THIS

The candid answers, with the data behind them.

Q1How often is this library actually updated?

Every program scorecard, waiver policy, and salary figure is refreshed on a 90-day rolling cycle. The date stamp at the top of every page shows the last full refresh; the publication date on each guide and report shows the last individual update. The Q4 2024 refresh is the current canonical release.

Q2Are the tools and reports really free? What's the catch?

The waiver checker, the open placement dataset, and every guide in this library are free. We do not sell applicant profiles. We monetise through employer subscriptions and clearly-labelled sponsored placements — every sponsored program carries a visible “Sponsored” tag, and sponsored programs are algorithmically suppressed from the main rankings. The 2024 EdTech Breakthrough Award judges specifically cited that no-placement-paid policy.

Q3How does the waiver checker actually decide eligibility?

Each of our 180+ partner schools publishes a waiver policy. We encode that policy as a set of pass/fail conditions across four common axes: undergraduate institution tier, GPA, years of work experience, and any professional certifications or prior quantitative coursework. Your inputs are scored against the encoded policy for every school in our database, and you receive a verdict for each one. The methodology page documents the encoding and refresh process.

Q4How do I tell which content is sponsored versus independent research?

Every piece of content authored by a paying employer is labelled “Sponsored” in a visible tag near the headline, the byline, and again at the foot of the page. Sponsored program placements do not influence our main rankings — the 37-factor scorecard suppresses them algorithmically. If you cannot find the “Sponsored” tag on a piece of content, it is independent research from our desk.
